With the dawn of the 21st century, the focus of the Indian Government has shifted towards the education sector in a bid to make a better future for the country. Thus, one can assume from the action that students have taken a front seat in the set of policies. But, since like many sectors the gap exists between supply and demand, the central government cannot possibly meet the requirements as it is limited by the financial parameters. In order to bridge the gap several State Governments have come forward with a wide variety of policies. One such scheme is Integrated Education Scheme for Disabled Students.
What is this scheme
The Integrated Education Scheme for Disabled Students is an innovative and one of its kind education scheme which aims to empower the disabled persons through education. The scheme is a kind of scholarship scheme but also aims to encourage them for studies. Under this scheme disabled students and physically handicapped students are enrolled in one of the 32 selected schools where they will be able to pursue secondary and senior secondary studies along with regular students. Not only will the students be given admission into the school, allowances will also be provided for different needs of the students.
Who is eligible
- Applicant should be a permanent domicile of Rajasthan
- Applicant should be disabled or physically handicapped having atleast 40% disability
- Applicant should be willing to pursue education in Secondary or higher Secondary stages as applicable
- Applicant should submit a disability certificate from a competent authority
How much
Apart from the admission into a school to study with regular students, the government will also provide allowance for the following:-

How to apply
Applications are usually invited through the local newspapers. Application forms are available with the principal of the respective schools. Applicants have to fill out the form and submit it along with the disability certificate to the respective school principals. Government of India will fund the scheme through the government of Rajasthan. The list of selected students will be put up in the school notice board. However, students can also contact head of their schools for more details.
