Delhi Government Tuition Fee Reimbursement for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Students

While the central government is virtually on its toes towards providing proper education to many and availing education for a lot of others, there still are a lot in which they miss out. In order to bridge that gap and provide facilities to those, some of the State governments step in. One such government is that of Delhi. The Delhi government provides tuition fee reimbursement to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students among many other schemes.

What is this scheme?

                The Department of Welfare of SC,ST,OBC and Minorities of the government of Delhi provides this facility to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe students who are either studying in or seeking admission in a recognized public/convent school as day scholars in Delhi. Under this scheme students from the mentioned categories can avail a full tuition fee reimbursement from the government for studying Class 11 and 12th after having passed class 10 exam from same or any other recognized school under the Government of Delhi. This will provide means of encouragement for students from the categories to pursue higher education.

Who is eligible

  • Applicants should be permanent resident of Delhi
  • Applicant should belong to either of the categories such as Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes
  • Applicants should have enrolled or seeking admission into a recognized public or convent school as day scholars in Delhi
  • Applicant should have scored atleast 50% marks in the previous year examinations
  • The annual family income of the applicants should by no means exceed Rs. 48,000
  • Applicant should have a minimum of 80% attendance in the previous class for renewal of the facility

How muchdelhi-government-education-scheme

                Selected students will be eligible for full tuition fee reimbursement at the school in which they have taken or are seeking to take admission. Applicants whose annual family income exceeds Rs.48,000 but is under Rs.1,0000 are eligible for 75% of fee reimbursement towards the academic year. Students already in their academic year in a school are also eligible subject to the fact that their principals give the proofs stated above which would prove that the student has secured more than 50% in the previous academic year examinations and has an attendance of more than 80%.

How to apply

                Application forms are generally available with the principal of the school. Also, application forms can be availed from the Department of welfare of SC,ST,OBC and Minorities. Completed application forms need to be submitted to the head of the school who in turn has to submit it to the Department of SC,ST,welfare. The application forms should be submitted along with a set of documents which are listed as follows:- self attested passport sized photographs, attested copies of mark sheet of previous year’s examination, Income certificate and caste certificate issued by the Deputy Commissioner Office, and original fee receipt with item details.
