India has been known as agricultural country. But with recent deforestation and global warming and uneven rain distribution, farmers are finding it hard to make it through. What it needs now is educated people in that sphere to revolutionize the sector. So, students of the new millennium are opting for it and girl students opting for it are awarded an incentive by Rajasthan government. The government awards scholarships for girl students enrolled as regular student for agriculture stream after class 10 for Classes 11 and 12. The scholarship provided at senior secondary level is for the two years of class 11 and 12.
What is this scholarship
The Agriculture Department under the Government of Rajasthan provides scholarship to girl students who wish to pursue a regular course in agriculture after Class X. The scholarship is provided for 2 years covering Class 11 and 12 for those who are enrolled in a local school as regular students of agriculture. The scholarship provides a most required boost to the agricultural sector especially with girls pursuing a regular course in the section. The scholarship is also seen as a source of encouragement for more and more girls to get into this sector.
Who is eligible
- Only girls are eligible to apply
- Should be a permanent resident of Rajasthan
- Applicant should have enrolled in class 11 in the same year as that of passing class 10th
- Applicant should have enrolled as a regular student in Agriculture student in a proper recognized college in Rajasthan
- In order to have the scholarship renewed for the subsequent year, applicant need to submit proof of her passing in the examinations held for class 11 by submitting class 11 marksheet along with form while submitting documents for scholarship renewal
How much
The scholarship is provided in the form of financial aid for the student. The amount of scholarship is fixed as Rs.3000 per year for a maximum of two years subject to the student satisfying certain conditions stated in the eligibility criteria. The amount is disbursed as a lump amount in a year and is basically given as Rs.300 per month for 10 months in a year. The amount of scholarship is directly transferred to the receiver’s bank account given during along with other details for the scholarship.
How to apply
Application forms are available with the Principal of the school in which the student is pursuing the course. Application form, completed in all manners along with required documents such as those of marksheet of last examination passed, domicile(of Rajasthan) certificate and certificate of being enrolled as a regular student of agriculture need to be submitted to the Principal of the School who in turn will submit the same to District Agricultural Officer. The applications are usually invited in the month of August and last date for applying is usually set as September end. The list of selected students is generally displayed in the school notice board around November-December.
